Hey - okay...so it's been a while since I posted...okay, it's been almost 2 years. Not quite, though, and I feel like if I don't post something now, once the 2 year mark rolls around, I'd really have to put a fork in it, so I'm going to make an attempt to continue now before it's too late.

I'm not even going to try to pick up where I left off, as way too much stuff has happened in the interim, but suffice it to say that Chris and I are still married, still in Brooklyn, and we still have 2 dogs (aka 'the girls') who act as if they've never been fed when they go outside, and a cat who loathes them, and tolerates us. Funnily enough, they all love Andy (our neighbor), Sarah's love bordering on obsessive, and Harley's love bordering on obscene.

The car, SJ - now re-christened BSG - is on her last wheels, committing a sort of slow, elderly car suicide (equivalent to the slow trek of the old girl into the Sun, for those BSG fans - quite poetic). For example, the muffler fell off on I95 2 weekends ago, the upholstery is starting to peel off the side door panel, and the shifter is getting more and more difficult to change (as if it is giving us the automotive finger whenever we want to go somewhere). While these are all things we can get fixed, at this point we're thinking to keep it till the end of the year, then donate it charity and do zip car full time.

So, things are pretty good here, despite these hard economic times; we're both still employed, and thankful for that. Even though my job, at least, continues to suck the life out of me most days. Which is why we're going up to the Catskills this next week with friends from our building (Andy & Meredith), taking the dogs (they have a dog Bella, who is Harley's best friend, and Echo dominates them both, even though Bella is part Rottie & Australian shephard and 3 x's Echo's size), board games, books, bikes and walking shoes. It will be a nice change of pace, and good to get out of the city, especially as it is supposed to get really hot and muggy next week.
